The San Ignacio Resort Hotel is located in San Ignacio Town but its lush tropical setting within a 17 acre private estate along the Macal River has earned it the name as being “the only jungle in town.” With a name associated with luxury and quality service since 1976, this resort is one of Belize’s prides.
Location
The town of San Ignacio is in the Cayo District and 72 miles from Belize’s largest city Belize City. Being in the west of the country means that the town of San Ignacio, is close to the Guatemalan border but is also close to Belize’s beautiful Mayan Mountains, with their tropical rainforests and abundant wildlife.
Rooms
The resort hotel offers 24 rooms for guests and all rooms are spacious and luxurious. The Master Suites feature French Doors leading to a balcony that has a private Jacuzzi. Food & Dining
The hotel’s all day restaurant is The Running W Steakhouse & Restaurant, named after owner’s family ranch and offers a menu that features both international cuisine plus some Belizean favorites. The air conditioned dining area offers some great views over the hillside property and because of the birds that can be seen feeding on nearby trees, eating in the restaurant has become known as a “dining with the birds” experience. The chic Lobby Bar can provide some fine cocktails and the staffs are known for their Belizean mixology drinks which can be enjoyed whilst listening to live music most weekends.
