Located on a 7 mile section of beautiful beach on the southern coast of Belize, in close proximity to the second largest barrier reef in the world, the Almond Beach Resort is large enough to provide you with all the luxury you would expect from a luxury resort yet small enough to ensure that you matter. The relaxed and carefree atmosphere of this resort allows you to immerse yourself in hypnotic tranquillity, pampered by the ideal qualities of the tropics.
The Almond Beach Resort is located in the Stann Creek District of Belize, one mile south of the beautiful Hopkins, a Garifuna fishing village. Its location is ideal for offering experiences and adventures, not just in the Caribbean Sea and on the western hemisphere’s largest reef, but also in the lush jungles of Belize and the beauty of the Mayan Mountains.
The different types of accommodation offered by the resort range from ocean view rooms and Beachfront Thatch Casita to a Beachfront 2 Bedroom Suite and even a Five Bedroom Owners Penthouse, ensuring that there are accommodations to suit everybody’s needs. All the accommodations feature Belizean carved furniture, air conditioning, coffee makers and safes.
Food & Dining
The resort offers three choices from where to dine. The resort’s main restaurant is the Jaguar Reef situated just steps away from the sea and has a menu that includes both Belizean and International cuisine, making the most of the fresh Caribbean seafood.
Providing lattes and subs made with bread from their own bakery, the Butterflies Coffee Shop can also provide local products like locally made ice-cream. There is also the Tiki Bar which apart from providing drinks whilst you are pool side, is also able to take orders for snacks if needed. Occasionally the resort takes advantage of its idyllic setting to have beach BBQs.
Apart from the 3 eating establishments the resort has 700 feet of beach with loungers and hammocks, an Infinity pool with swim up bar, a children’s pool, hot tub and the Butterflies Spa for all your massage and treatment needs. It also has kayaks, sail boats and bicycles plus golf cart and car rentals.
Staff & Service
The hospitality of the staffs is truly memorable with them being able to arrange any type of adventure you may fancy or assist you in just relaxing in a life of luxury.
Although the reef and the Caribbean Sea can offer a vast array of different adventures with diving, fishing, sailing or snorkeling, the mainland can also offer some exciting adventures with tours that include visits to Mayan ruins, jungle treks, zip lining or cave tubing. Not forgetting of course that there is a seven mile beach on which to o beach combing.
The mangroves located at the mouth of the Sittee River, one of Belize’s largest rivers, are reported to be the tallest in the whole of the Caribbean region and a Sittee River boat excursion tour not only offers you the opportunity to see these but also affords you the chance to see a wide variety of wild life including iguanas, manatees, crocodiles, turtles and hundreds of different species of birds.
