The El Pescador Resort is located on Ambergris Caye, the largest of the islands on Belize’s barrier reef, the second largest reef in the world. Situated on the beachfront 2 miles north of San Pedro, the island’s main town, the resort can offer you both privacy and easy access to all the shops and night life which the town has to offer.
The resort can offer accommodations in either the main lodge or in private villas. The well-appointed rooms in the lodge have air conditioning, walk in shower and are beach front, next to a pool. The 8 two level private villas have 1, 2 or 3 bedroom configurations and are also well-appointed with each of the downstairs en-suite bedrooms having its own entrance from the beach to a patio with outside shower. The second level has a living area and a fully equipped kitchen.
Food & Dining
The resort’s restaurant provides Caribbean cuisine that can be enjoyed either on the outside deck or in the restaurant but for dinner guests are encouraged to all eat together so they can exchange stories of their day’s adventures. The story telling usually starts after 3 Pm whilst having cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the bar.
The resort’s many amenities include a massage room, exercise room, restaurant and bar, 3 swimming pools, complimentary use of kayaks and bicycles, fishing instructors and guides, a scuba diving instructor, gift shop and tour office.
Staff & Service
The family owners live on the property and ensure that all guests are treated as part of their family with professional and experienced staff. The staff are aware of many guest’s wishes for privacy but are available and willing to assist whenever and with whatever is needed.
With the Caribbean Sea and the largest reef in the western hemisphere just outside your bedroom door, many of the guests opt for maritime adventures such as fishing, snorkeling or diving, whilst others opt for quiet hours by one of the pools or on the beach. Many guests opt to spend at least one day on one of the tours to the mainland, either to go cave tubing, zip lining, jungle trekking or even exploring one of Belize’s many Mayan ruins. Whatever your personal choice is, the on-site tour office will be able to facilitate your needs.
Although the resort offers seclusion, guests are welcome to take a water taxi to nearby San Pedro where there is an excellent variety of restaurants and shops to explore during the day and some very interesting night life to experience in the evenings. Also golf carts, the island’s favorite mode of transport are available to rent either by the hour or by the day, so you can fully explore all that the island has to offer.
